Polyot
Polyot is a restaurant interior located in Moscow. The design recalls the setting of a science fiction film. Sleek steel shapes and portholes at the entrance make the space resemble the cabin of a space shuttle. Minimalism is a guiding principle, so patterns and ornaments are absent from the walls and from the design elements. Large shining objects are used instead. Two silver figures, each 3.6 meters tall, stand on symmetric columns at the entrance. All furniture and lighting were custom made for the project.
Polyot Restaurant by Alina Pimkina has been featured as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Polyot Restaurant earned the Platinum A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
