Black Steel
Black Steel is a set of dining table and chairs inspired by the form of a spider. The supporting frames are made of white steel, shaped by CNC milling or mold casting, and show simple lines and a stable structure. The seat surface, backrest and tabletop are made of plastic formed by injection molding. Steel and plastic create a clear contrast of color and material. The backrest follows the shape of the human back and helps support a correct posture for dining and reading. All parts can be disassembled quickly and stacked for transport.
Black Steel Novelty and Comfortable by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 has been featured as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Black Steel Novelty and Comfortable earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which rewards exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
