Orinnoro
Orinnoro is a jar designed for preserving items such as flowers and food. The tall glass object is 65 cm high and is hand shaped in a studio from recycled waste glass. Each jar is blown in a wooden mold, and the color stripes are formed with a modern interpretation of the classic Incalmo glass blowing technique. The rhythm of the glass making process gives every piece a unique color hue. The rough texture of the recycled material is highlighted, and the shadow of the glass shifts with the surrounding light. The design reflects calm Northern aesthetics.
Orinnoro Jar by Sini Majuri was recognized as an outstanding representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Orinnoro Jar was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
