Goldwater
The idea for this design was inspired by the water of the ocean. The sculptural aspect of this piece is manifested in the water like surface which accommodates the organic shape. Just as in nature, there are no visible connections, seams or construction to be found. Downward running water floating off a round spout seems to reflect in the shape of the legs. The brass meticulously mantels around the wooden body and is soldered and polished to give the impression of one continuous surface throughout the entire piece.
Goldwater Coffee Table by Oliver Philipe Bowien has been identified as an innovative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Goldwater Coffee Table earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that celebrates excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
