Butterfly
Butterfly is a chair inspired by the shape of a butterfly. The curved lines of the wings were extracted and developed into the form of the seat, the backrest and the legs. The backrest and the seat surface are divided into two parts, following the movement of the wings. The chair is made of high-speed steel and is shaped as a single piece by 3D printing, which gives good strength and a metallic luster. The structure is stable, and the shape and the structure are well integrated. The chair can be used for rest, reading and decoration.
Butterfly Chair by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Butterfly Chair earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
